MISSION STATEMENT:
It is the mission of the Evangeline Parish Library to provide informational, cultural,
educational, and recreational materials to the people of Evangeline Parish.
Although the
Library places an emphasis on the selection of books and other print materials, it also
acquires appropriate audio and visual media, as well as electronic resources.
The
Evangeline Parish Library is the local center for continuing self-education and can
provide assistance to students at all levels. The Library strives to maintain an active
collection, meeting current and foreseeable needs.

At its Jan. 25th meeting, the Library Board set its meeting schedule
for 2010.
Regular meetings are scheduled for Tues. April 13, Tues. Aug.
24, Wed. Oct. 6, and Tues. Dec. 14.
All meetings will be held at 4
p.m. at the Main Library (242. W. Main St., Ville Platte).
All the
meetings are open to the public, and refreshments will be served. Board officers for 2010 are Julia Fontenot, President, and Jennifer Vidrine, Vice President.
The board also set the calendar for 2010.

Administration will be at the main library (Ville Platte) from 8:30 to
11:30 a.m. the last Saturday of Jan., Feb., Mar., and Apr. to help patrons
with the Social Security website and with Social Security issues. No
appointment is necessary. The next session will be Sat. Feb. 27.
